This Wisconsin snow has been throwing me for a loop – there’s so much of it, and it actually sticks here!
Of course, after a handful of nice, sunny days, a weekend snow storm ruined plans I had for a Saturday morning outside of Oshkosh. But, it worked out for the best, because I was able to attend a workshop hosted by model and photographer Josie Fox and photographer Nic at Nic Charles Photography.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, since I hadn’t ever been to a workshop before, but I’m so, so glad I made the decision to go. The experience was incredible! Nic is an amazing photographer and incredibly knowledgeable, and Josie and Michaela were both unbelievably amazing models. Josie is a photographer herself, and had an amazing amount of photography and client-relation advice and tips.
The Setups
There were a total of three setups during the workshop: headshot, fashion, and boudoir.
Headshots
We started with the headshot setup – the portrait of Michaela to the right is one example. The lighting was perfect, focusing on the subject and leaving the background darker. I’m so, so in love with the images from this setup! There are a couple more below.
Fashion
The second setup was a fashion-style setup. Josie and Michaela were total rockstars. They’re both so incredibly amazing at what they do!
Boudoir
And then there was the boudoir setup, which was totally my jam.
The entire set-up was amazing. The bed, the decorations, even the panes of glass against the wall were perfect. Everything was coordinated beautifully. It was immaculate and it was clear so much thought went into it.
Josie and Michaela were photographed individually and then did a set at the end together.
All of the images from this workshop were total fire. The experience was amazing. And I was able to connect with other photographers from the area for the first time since moving to Oshkosh, as well as get a peek at a beautiful studio in the city.
I had a blast, and I can’t wait to get the chance to do it again!
